Matthew Ray Lee

Matthew Ray Lee, 53, son of Gary and Judith (Crumley) Lee, was born Nov., 6, 1965, and passed away Sept. 11, 2019. Lee spent his formative years in Springfield, where he graduated from Glendale High School in 1983. He was married to Julie Marie Camenisch in 1994. He completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbia College. After moving to Monett in 2000 with his family, he began working for Jack Henry & Associates. In his 18-year tenure, he served in many roles, including Program Analysis Supervisor.
In addition to serving as the contemporary worship leader for First United Methodist Church of Monett, he was a Spin cycling instructor for the local YMCA and was very active in his church and community. He was an outdoor enthusiast and loved traveling with his family throughout the United States, including many national parks.
Lee is survived by: his parents, Judy Lee of Monett, and Gary Lee of LaVista, Nev.; sister Mindy (Kevin) Crossland of Kimberling City; wife, Julie Lee of Monett; daughters, Alexandra (David) Hill of Appleton City; Madison Lee of Baylor University, Waco, Texas, and Grace Lee of Monett; two grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and a niece, Murphy Galloway of Lenexa, Kan., along with many extended family, colleagues, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents; mother-in-law, Carol Camenisch; and father-in-law, Gary Camenisch.
Services were held Sept. 14, at the First United Methodist Church followed by a reception. Memorials may be made to the Lee Education Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
