Mike Kurt Burton

Mike Kurt Burton, 59, of Pierce City, passed away Dec. 6, 2019 while at his residence.
Burton was born April 21, 1960 in Fort Benning, Ga., to William and Ilse (Foltin) Burton. He graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1979. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably for three years, then transferred to the Army Reserves. For a period of time, he was based at the Army Recruiting Office in Monett. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Germany and had worked as an x-ray tech in the military hospital.
Burton is survived by: his parents; brother, Frank Burton, of Joplin; sister, Anna (Tod) Thomas of Monett; multiple aunts and uncles; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Burton was preceded in death by: sisters, Madge Meadows and Jeanette Wolfe.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Private interment will be in the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to the D.A.V. in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
