MVHS cheer team takes third place at state

Local cheerleaders shine in co-ed large division against bigger schools
The Mt. Vernon High School Cheerleaders pose following the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association Cheerleading Championships which was held Saturday, Nov. 3, at the University of Missouri. The team competed in the large co-ed division and placed third behind 5A Lee’s Summit West High School and 5A Blue Springs High School. This is Mt. Vernon’s first year as a 3A co-ed squad under the direction of Coach Andrea Piepenbrink and Assistant Coach Espn Crockett.
