NANETTE LEA BISHOP

Nanette Lea Bishop, 74, of Hurley passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 6, 1949, in Aurora, the daughter of Thaddeus Phillips and Reitha Aileen (Mackey) Lewis.
She was a 1967 graduate of Aurora High School and was a secretary at the First Baptist Church in Aurora and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elsey.
On Oct. 27, 1967, she married Ronald Earl Bishop, in Hurley.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronnie; one son, Heath Bishop of Hurley; two daughters, Suzanne (Lee) Hultz of Elsey and Valery (Brad) Wilson of Hurley; two sisters, Reitha (Gerald) Haworth of Monett and Janie Barke of Hurley; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Lewis of Republic, Nancy Lewis of Diamond and Brinda Bishop of Nixa; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Michael, Danny and Jay Lewis; grandson, Micah and great-grandson, Walker.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 26, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial followed at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
