Norma Lee Blevins

Norma Lee Blevins, 88, of Mt. Vernon passed away April 28, 2021. She was born on Jan. 23, 1933 in Lawrence County to Ueal and Lorene (Brashers) Leath. Blevins was one of seven children in the home.
She married Jack Doyle Blevins on Feb. 1, 1952. This union was blessed with five sons, Gary, Bill, Doug, Tony and Gregory. She worked as a nursing assistant in Aurora Hospital and other locations. Blevins was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Gregory Lance Blevins; one grandson; sisters, Nova Brown and Wilda Wilson and a brother, Harold Leath.
Blevins is survived by her husband of 69 years; sons, Gary (Sarah) Blevins of Marionville, Bill (Karen) Blevins of Carthage, Doug Blevins of Marionville and Tony (Becky) Blevins of LaRussell; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Beck of Mt. Vernon; brothers, Delbert Leath of Kimberling City and Roger Leath of Branson, as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
A visitation was held May 3, 2021 in the chapel at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Funeral services followed. Burial was held at Campground Cemetery, Chesapeake.
