PERNILLA ELIZABETH ORTWEIN

Pernilla Elizabeth “Penny” Ortwein, 72, of Aurora passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Springfield Villa Nursing Home in Springfield. She was born in St. Louis on Jan. 30, 1953; the daughter of Joseph and Virgina (Harrington) Ortwein.
She worked at Cuddy Farms, in Aurora and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Shawn Phillips of Nixa; her daughter, Stephanie (Chad) Stokes of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Chrissy Hoover-Phillips of Springfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry Ortwein of St. Louis and Mike Ortwein of Marionville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hubert and Larry Ortwein and sister, Joyce Ortwein.
Services were held on Saturday, March 29, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Aurora. Father Sanu Thomas officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Crafton Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
