Phillis A. Gold

Phillis A. Gold, 88 of Republic (formerly of Marionville) passed away April 22, 2021, surrounded by her family. Gold was born on Nov. 19, 1932 in Marionville to Raymond and Millie (Metcalf) Morris. She was the eldest of three children.
She graduated from Marionville High School in 1950 and then attended MSU. She married Hosea Gold on June 7, 1951. She and Hosea had three children, Rodney, Johnny and Kathy. Her and Hosea became members of Marionville Baptist Church and are still members to this day. Phillis was a member of the choir. She was a member of the Town & Country Extension Club.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brother, William “Billy” Morris and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Kennedy.
She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years; sons, Rodney (Donna) Gold and Johnny Gold; daughter, Kathy (Dean) Vaught; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Sid) Hubbard as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
A graveside service was held April 26, 2021 in the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
