Phyllis Faye Long

Phyllis Faye Long, 93, of Monett, passed away peacefully at Republic Nursing & Rehab on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025. She had been a resident there since January.
She was born on July 5, 1932, in Pierce City, to Rube and Faye (Hunnell) Hundley. She was a resident of Monett most of her life. She met her husband, Dale Long, and they were married on Dec. 28, 1951. Dale preceded her in death on June 7, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her other companion, Henry Robertson of Bolivar.
She is survived by one sister, Sue Greene, of Sugarland, Texas; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Long, of Maumelle, Ark.; two sons, Rick Long and Donna, of Aurora; Danny Long and Barb, of Ozark; one daughter, Mary Beth LaMastus and Mickie, of Monett. She is also survived by two granddaughters; six grandsons; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Others preceding her in death were her parents; stepfather, Bill Weldon; brothers, Bob Hundley and Ann; Johnny Roberson and Shirley; brother-in-law, Al Greene; and brother-in-law, Edward (Pete) Long.
She attended Orange Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church in her memory.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Buchanan Funeral Home with burial to follow at Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
