Ray P. Taylor

Ray P. Taylor, 63, of Halltown, passed away Dec. 25, 2018. He was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Stone County, to the late Delmar and Tressie Taylor.
He is survived by: daughters, Christine Townsend, Hope (Toby) Wilson all of Halltown; son, Randall (Sarah) Taylor of Miller; two grand sons; one great-grandson; sister, Frances Pringle of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a host of family. He is preceded in death by: his wife, Teddy; sisters, Lillian Batson of Kansas City, Claudia Christine; and one grandson.
Taylor enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, As a young man he truly enjoyed working as a guide on the James River. Taylor was skilled in many trades, and worked along side his Dad building lake cabins as properties developed along Table Rock Lake. While he loved the lake country, he eventually moved his family to the Springfield where he worked for Hutchens & Sons Metal Products. In time he began farming, and for several years enjoyed life as a dairy farmer in Lawrence County. After farming, he was a truck driver for more than 30 years.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at the Stumpff Funeral Home in Crane. The chapel will be open at 10 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m. A private family burial will immediately follow at the Cape Fair Cemetery.
