RICHARD LEE TURK

Special delivery at heaven’s open door on March 12, 2025. Richard Lee Turk, 88 years old, was born on a farm east of Miller, Missouri on February 28, 1937, the son of John and Lottie (Lawyer) Turk.
Turk was a 1955 graduate of Miller High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1963, two years in Japan.
He was well known for his sense of humor, a Miller area historian, a horse and mule man that drove teams of mules many miles, and was a real handyman known for his carpenter work abilities. He was a believer in God and was baptized in the creek south of Miller. He was a friend to all, young and old, and will be missed by family and friends. Richard liked to hunt and fish and was a coon hunter trophy winner. He was raised east of Miller and worked as a hydraulic mechanic for Anderson truck bed, and also worked at Mid Am and Con Agra.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Roberta; daughters, Angie Turk of Mt. Vernon and Melinda Daniel of Carroll, Iowa; brother, Charles Turk; sisters, Wilma Bradley and Lois Simpson; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Armstrong.
A good man who loved his wife, family, friends and mules.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, March 18, at Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for The Miller Band Stand in memory of Richard Turk. Donations can be sent to Miller City Hall, P.O. Box 188, Miller, MO 65707.
