SANDRA “SANDY” SUZANNE (LEWIS) YATES

Sandra Suzanne Lewis Yates, 77, of Parker, Colorado, passed away on Sept. 11, 2024. Born on June 22, 1947, in Quantico, Va., she grew up in a Marine family and moved 11 times before settling in Mt. Vernon.
She attended Mt. Vernon High School and after graduation moved to Columbia where she met Mick Yates. They were married on Oct. 1, 1966, and shared 58 years together.
She is survived by her husband, Mick; their four children: Eric Yates of Castle Rock, Colo., Jason Yates of Hutchinson, Minn.,  Daron Yates of Andover, Minn.; and Laura Yates Schwarz of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Haskell Roy Lewis and Madelyn Jane Thoburn both of Mount Vernon,, as well as her sister, Cathy Lewis Dickinson, and brother-in-law, John Dickinson.
A memorial service was held on Oct. 22, at Crossroads Community Church in Parker, Colo.
