TERRY LEA CANADY

Terry Lea Canady passed away on June 27, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and cancer. She was born on Sept. 10, 1951, to Ernest and Ernestine (Carr) Canady.
She attended school at Wentworth Elementary School and Pierce City Elementary and High School when it consolidated with the Pierce City School District. She graduated from Pierce City High School in 1969 and earned a bachelor of science in elementary education from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar in 1973. She spent her career as a teacher in the Lake Ozark School District and the Cassville School District teaching all grades from kindergarten to 5th grade.
She was a lifelong member of the Van Buren Baptist Church in rural Wentworth.
She is survived by her sister, Kristi (Chris) Marion of Pierce City and their children; her niece; nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry.
Visitation was held at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Saturday, June 29. Funeral services were held Van Buren Baptist Church on Sunday, June 30, with burial after in the Van Buren Cemetery.
