Video invitation captures the heart of Apple Butter Makin’ Days

Mt. Vernon resident Gregory Fish, founder and director of FishXpressions, has created a video invitation encouraging people to come to the 53rd Apple Butter Makin’ Days. With bluegrass-style music playing in the background, the video includes several scenes from last year’s Apple Butter Makin Days most popular attractions, including the parade, the box turtle race, performances by various bands, and craftsmen demonstrations. The video also has several up-close shots of spectators, drone footage of the square, and of course, people making apple butter.
Fish said he designed the video to show people how much fun there is to be had at Apple Butter Makin’ Days.
“As a filmmaker, I enjoy documenting the things my family enjoys, such as vacation trips, or days at the lake,” he said. “Pam Dudley asked if I could make a sort of trailer for Apple Butter Makin’ Days. As I sat down to edit my footage, I sought out to make it seem like an enjoyable event to attend, because that’s exactly what it has been for us.”
The video can currently be seen and shared on Facebook at the Chamber of Commerce and Apple Butter Makin’ Days pages, among many others. As of press time, the video has been viewed more than 10,000 times.
The 53rd Annual Apple Butter Makin’ Days takes place in Mt. Vernon Oct. 11-13.
