WALTER MCKINLEY LESLIE JR.

Walter McKinley Leslie Jr., 76, of Monett passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born April 11, 1948, in Waverly; the son of the late Walter and Helen (Shoemaker) Leslie Sr.
He was a 1966 graduate of Santa Fe High School in Alma and graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University) in Kirksville and received his master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. He was an insurance executive for National Indemnity Insurance and was a member of the Eagles Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Rich) Record of Omaha, Neb.; five sons: David Leslie of Fremont, Neb., Don Leslie of Des Moines, Iowa, Doug Leslie of Phoenix, Ariz. and Wyatt and William Leslie of Monett; his aunt, Mary Lou Ridinger of Warsaw; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the New Site Baptist Church in Monett.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
