WALTER MCKINLEY LESLIE, JR.

Walter McKinley Leslie, Jr., age 76, of Monett, Missouri passed away at 11:33 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born April 11, 1948, in Waverly, Missouri; the son of the late Walter and Helen (Shoemaker) Leslie, Sr.
Walter was a 1966 graduate of Santa Fe High School, in Alma, Missouri. He graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri and received his master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was an insurance executive for National Indemnity Insurance and was a member of the Eagles Club.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Diane Record and her husband, Rich of  Omaha, Nebraska; five sons: David Leslie of Fremont, Nebraska, Don Leslie of Des Moines, Iowa, Doug Leslie of Phoenix, Arizona, and Wyatt and William Leslie of Monett, Missouri; his aunt, Mary Lou Ridinger of Warsaw, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the New Site Baptist Church in Monett, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
