Annie Muriel Wood Taylor
Annie Muriel Wood Taylor was born the second of four daughters and one son to Otis Chester and Verna Octavia (Baker) Wood on July 31, 1926, in Montgomery, Ala.
When she was a young teen, the family moved to Andalusia, Ala. where she graduated from high school in 1944. She attended college at the University of Montevallo, in Alabama and met Harland J. Taylor, of Goodland, Kan., Harland was in the Army Air Core (later called the US Air Force)
They were married in Andalusia on Oct. 2, 1946, and they made their home in Goodland Kan. for 30 years.
She taught third grade at what was then Grant Elementary School in Goodland Kan.for seven years.
In 1976 they purchased a farm in Southwest Missouri near Aurora,
She attended the First Baptist churches in Goodland, Andalusia, and Aurora over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harland, that she was married to for 79 years, 3 months and 9 days before he passed in January; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret (George) Clark, Mildred (Donald) Cook, and Maudine (Robert) Waller; an unnamed infant brother that she referred to as Mark; two brothers-in-law, Clinton Taylor, and Buck Young; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jackson, Marjorie (Bob) Hillebrenner, and Clarice (Doyle) Finley and a grandson, Todd Jeffrey Jenkins.
She is survived by two daughters, Teriann Jenkins, and Traci (David) Henson; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law, Bebe Young, Don (Barb) Taylor, and Anna Taylor.
No services are planned as most of the family lives away and was just here a couple of months ago for her hundredth birthday party celebration. Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
