Monett boys fall in district semifinals, Lady Cubs lose in opening round of district play

The Monett High School boys basketball team traveled to Nevada last week to take part in the Class 4, District 12 Tournament winning their opening round game but falling in the semifinals.

The Mt. Vernon High School boys basketball team traveled to Nevada last week to take part in the Class 4, District 12 tournament, coming home with a second place finish.
 
On Saturday, March 7, the Mt’neers lost to Nevada in the district tournament championship game, 59-42.

The 2025-26 high school basketball season has come to an end for both the boys and Class 2, third ranked girls basketball teams after losses in their district tournament last week.
 

Aurora basketball defeats Hollister, Lady Houn's drop games to Mt. Vernon and Webb City

The Aurora High School boys’ basketball team hosted and defeated Hollister on Thursday, Feb. 26, 63-60.
 
The Houn' Dawgs opened the week by traveling to Mt. Vernon but fell to the Mt'neers, 84-54 on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

The Monet High School girls’ basketball team hosted Springfield Central on Tuesday, Feb. 24 and were able to defeat the Lady Bulldogs, 65-61.

The Mt. Vernon High School boys basketball team won both their games last week, defeating Aurora and Buffalo.
 
The Mt'neers hosted Aurora on Wednesday, Feb. 25 and on the game going away, 84-54.
 

Auora falls to McDonald County and East Newton, Lady Houn's lose to state ranked McDonald County

The Aurora High School boys basketball team played two games last week, losing to McDonald County and East Newton.
 
The Houn' Dawgs traveled to McDonald County on Wednesday, Feb. 18 but lost in overtime, 86-82.
 

Miller Cardinals drop two games last week, Lady Cardinals pick up two wins, now have 23

The Miller High School boys basketball team played two games last week, dropping both of them, while the Lady Cardinals picked up two more wins last week.
 
Miller traveled to Pierce City on Wednesday, Feb.,18, but fell to the Eagles, 41-29.

The Monett High School boys basketball team had just one game last week, traveling to Lamar on Tuesday, Feb. 17 losing in overtime, 74-65.
 

Mt. Vernon boys basketball beats Seneca by 33, Lady Mt’neers wallop Seneca

The Mt. Vernon High School boys basketball team played two games last week, defeating Seneca but losing to Forsyth.
 
On Friday, Feb. 20 the Mt’neers traveled to Forsyth but lost to the Panthers, 62-48.
