The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers 2024 football season came to an end in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 23, after they were defeated by the Seneca Indians 55-26 at Mt’neer Stadium. The Mt’neers end the season, 9-4, as district champions.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Mt. Vernon High School senior Molly Daniels signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and softball career as a Lady Indian at Chipola College a Division 1 Junior College in Marianna, Fla. She plans to major in business.

The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers handily defeated the Buffalo Bison in the district quarterfinals game at Mt’neer Stadium on Friday, Nov. 1. The Mt’neers dominated the game throughout its entirety, scoring nine touchdowns before the Bison even got on the board.

The Mt. Vernon girls’ golf team wrapped up another successful season this last week. The team is led by senior duo, Madi Phillips and Courtnee Bishop. The Lady Mt’neers placed in every golf tournament they played in this year, and state was no different.
