Apple Dew Tarts

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Apple Dew Tarts by Shirley Obermann

2 cans of crescent rolls
3 Granny Smith apples
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tsp. cinnamon (plus more for sprinkling on top)
12 oz. can Mountain Dew

Peel and slice each apple into 16 pieces. Wrap several apple slices in each crescent roll and place rolled slices in a pan, making two rows.

Place additional apple slices between the rolled slices and between the rows.

Combine the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Pour the mixture over the wrapped apples. Pour the Mountain Dew over all of the ingredients in the pan.

Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
