Aurora’s Lamphear arrested in Eagle Stop robbery

Lamphear, shown above in cuffs, is alleged to have robbed the Eagle Stop in Aurora.
An Aurora man is in custody after he allegedly robbed a gas station. Dustin Lamphear, 36, is charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to the probable cause statement, officers from the Aurora-Marionville Police Department responded to a call in the late evening hours of Monday, April 10, from the Eagle Stop Convenience Store at 103 Pin Oak, Aurora.
The clerk told the officer that a man wearing a plaid jacket with a hood and face mask came into the store displaying a black semiautomatic firearm and demanded cash from the register. She gave him the cash, and he fled the store and ran through the south parking lot. The clerk also said the man had a tattoo on his right hand.
Two officers with the AMPD, as well as an officer from Probation and Parole, viewed video footage of the incident and determined it was Lamphear who had committed the robbery. The clerk later picked out Lamphear as the culprit out of a photo lineup.
Lamphear was taken into custody on Thursday, April 13; he denied any involvement in the robbery in a post-Miranda interview.
Online court records show that Lamphear has numerous previous convictions for offenses including possession of a controlled substance, assault, resisting arrest, burglary and theft. In addition to the charges in the latest alleged incident, Lamphear also faces charges of harassment, property damage and trespass from two earlier alleged incidents this year.
As of press time, no court hearings had been scheduled for Lamphear in this latest alleged incident.
