Because It’s Monday Chocolate Cake by Naoma Williams

1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. dark fudge instant pudding mix (4-serving size)
1-1/4 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
4 eggs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

GLAZE: (optional)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup evaporated milk

For the cake: Preheat the oven to 325°. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, milk, oil, syrup, and eggs. Beat on low speed to blend, then beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Gently stir in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into a greased and floured bundt cake pan (12-cup capacity).

Bake for 55 minutes to 1 hour or until a cake tester comes out clean. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rake. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate glaze.

For the glaze: Combine the chocolate chips and evaporated milk in a small saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat until blended and mixture comes to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
