Billy Olen Long

Billy Olen Long, 78, of Monett, passed away Jan. 27, 2019, while at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Purdy in 1940, to the late Olen and Edwinna (Inman) Long. In 1965 he married Trix Smith in Monett; she survives.
He was the owner of Bill’s Marine in Monett for over 40 years, a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War, a member of the Monett V.F.W., as well as being a member of the Cassville Cruiser’s and the Bethel Baptist Church in Monett.
Long is survived by: his wife; daughter, Diane (Steve) Kluhsman of Monett; sister, Phyllis Burton of Eagle Rock; uncle, Wayne Kennedy; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Jan. 30, 2019, at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services were held Jan. 31, 2019, at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett. Burial followed services at the Bethel Cemetery outside of Monett. Memorials may be made to the Easyville Church.
