Cheese Bread Souffle

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”: Cheese Bread Souffle (name not available)

• 6 slices white bread
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
• 16 oz. Old English cheese, softened
• 4 eggs
• 1-1/2 cups milk
• 1 tsp. salt

1) Spread one side of each slice of bread with the softened butter. Then spread with the softened cheese. Cut the bread into cubes. Place in a 2-qt. casserole dish.

2) Beat the eggs, milk, and salt together. Pour this mixture over the bread. Cover. Let stand 8-24 hours in the refrigerator.

3) Remove cover and bake in a 325° oven for one hour. Serves 6.
