Edward (Eddie) Schiska

Edward (Eddie) Schiska, 70, of Pierce City, passed away Feb. 3, 2019, at his home in Pierce City. He was born Jan. 21, 1949 to Joseph (Joe) and Wilma (Fenske) Schiska. He was married to Suzanne Hankins in 1971, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City. He was an engineer on the railroad and was the fire chief for the Pierce City fire department for over 30 years. Schiska was an avid sportsman and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was well-known in the Pierce City area.
Surviving are the following: his wife, of Pierce City; daughters, Amy Lombard of Overland Park, Kan. and Melissa Leech of Monett; sister, Saundra Bowen of Joplin; brother, Alan Schiska of Joplin; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.
A private graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
