Detective believes suspect thinks he is ‘royalty’ with $20 million inheritance

A Miller man was arrested on Tuesday, April 20, on charges that he allegedly sent threatening e-mails to a Christian County prosecutor. Eric Englind, 44, remained in the custody of the jail as of press time, charged with tampering with a judicial officer and harassment.

Multiple harassing emails
According to the probable cause statement in the case, a detective with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Amy Fite, a prosecutor for Christian County. Fite told the detective that she had been receiving “harassing and threatening e-mails” from Englind; the messages, Fite said, asked her “if she has picked out her grave plot” and “telling her (April 21, 2021) is the last day she will be able to speak.” Fite also said Englind came to her office looking for her, but she was in court on those days.
The probable cause statement also included other messages Englind allegedly sent to Fite, including, “where is my visa”, “you are finished”, “Do I need to get in your face?”, “I’m going to dissolve your (expletive) entire city of Nixa”, “(Expletive) your life and what you want”, “I (expletive) fight this way too … For Real”, “You are going to be dealt with”, “Do now prepare court clerk for disbursement of payment for services rendered per diem; Eric T. England” and “File a charge or disburse payment today.”

Suspect may believe he is royalty
The detective who investigated the case stated in the probable cause statement that she determined in reading the messages that Englind believes he is “royalty” and that his family is holding a $20 million inheritance; she also stated that Englind is demanding that Christian County release the money, and is threatening them when they won’t.
Englind is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 29, for a bond hearing; he is also scheduled to appear on Thursday, May 13, for a preliminary hearing.
