Granny's Applesauce Cake

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Granny’s Applesauce Cake by Nealy Hope

1/2 cup shortening
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups applesauce
1 cup raisins, cooked
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup nuts
1 heaping cup flour

Mix all of the ingredients together until well combined. Pour into a 12x8x2 baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until done. This cake is very moist.
