June Reed

June Reed, 94, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Sept. 28, 2026, in Collinsville, Okla. She had just celebrated her 94th birthday. She was born on Sept. 22, 1932, in Meade, Kan. to Orval and Julia Craig. She married Ron Reed, on Nov. 3, 1951, in Junction City, Kan.  
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Mt Vernon.
She and Ron opened a donut shop in Mount Vernon, but their cooking and generosity were never confined to just a job. 
She was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Julia Craig and her two brothers and two sisters. 
 
She is survived by her son, Rick and wife, Barbara Reed; daughter, Gloria, and husband, Gordon Small; several grandkids; one brother-in-law, David Bieber.
 
A visitation was held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon a funeral service followed in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
