Mary Carolyn McCallister

Mary Carolyn McCallister, 73, of Monett, passed away Feb. 10, 2020, in the comfort of her home with family at her side.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1946 in Baltimore, Md., to the late Paul Richard Eckman and Laura Louise (Wunder) Eckman. She graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1964 and for many years worked for the Monett Times as a clerk. In 1993 she married John McCallister.
She is survived by: husband, John McCallister; sons, Brian Denney and his wife, of Ark., Darrin (Debbie) Denney of Farmerville, La. and Christopher (Alisha) Denney of Monett; brother, Steve (Tonya) Eckman of Emporia, Kan.; sister, Ellen Ann (Jack) DePriest of Monett; her father and mother-in-law, Don and JoAnn McCallister, of Monett; brothers-in-law, Dennis Johnson, of Louisburg and Mike (LeAnn) McCallister of Monett; sister-in-law, Mary Kay Eckman, of Aurora; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Pam Loftin, of Aurora and Lori Jasumback of Monett. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Rick Eckman; and sisters, Sue Johnson and Regina Gould.
Graveside services will be held Feb. 22, 2020 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
