Mt. Vernon’s Burk signs letter of intent to play softball State Fair Community College

On    Tuesday, Nov. 14, Mt. Vernon High School senior Allyson Burk signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and softball career at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
This year will be her fourth as a member of the Lady Mt’neers varsity softball team. The outfielder was a proud member of last year’s 2023 Class 2 state championship team.
Burk says she plans to get her associate degree in Psychology and then transfer to a university to major in law. Along with excelling athletically she also excels academically; she currently holds a 4.0 GPA, and is involved in and is an officer in the Mt. Vernon FFA.
Coach Matt Schubert said, “She was a great leader, she really worked hard and is a really positive person and I really appreciate that and her “sassyness” and everything that goes along with that.”
