Mt. Vernon golfers on roll, bring home hardware

The Mt. Vernon Ladies golf team has been on a roll of late, placing at almost every golf tournament they have played in this season while being led with medalist senior Madi Phillips and sophomore Emmie Schubert.
They took first place in the Cassville Invitational Tournament on Sept. 26, third in the Joplin Invitational Tournament on Sept. 30, and first in the Monett Team Scramble with a score of 5-under par on Oct. 2. Senior Madi Phillips finished top 5 in all three tournaments, while sophomore Emmie Schubert also finished as a top individual medalist in the Cassville Invitational tournament. The team headed into conference and district play this week at Schifferdecker on Tuesday for Conference and will continue on Thursday at Marshfield.
