Mt. Vernon High School hosts track meet

Mt. Vernon hosted 21 different schools at a track meet Friday, April 11. Lawrence County Schools Marionville, Miller, Monett, Mt. Vernon, and Verona were in attendance. The following are results for area athletes who placed in the top three for each event.

Marionville
From Marionville High School, Avery Eden placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.33, and the Marionville girls relay team placed second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 53.01 and second in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:51.58.

Miller
From Miller High School, the boys relay team placed second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 53.01 and second in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:51.58, and Nathaniel Hill placed second in the boys triple jump with a distance of 12.19 m.

Monett
From Monett High School, Vayla Smith placed first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.08; Isabell Coffey placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:37.03 and first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:53.71; the Monett girls relay team placed first in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 52.65; first in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:51.19 and second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:22.17; Peyton Brandt placed third in high jump with a distance of 1.5m and second in triple jump with a distance of 10.02m.; Addison Branch and Zoey Lynn tied for third place in pole vault with a distance of 2.1m; Morgan Wright placed second in javelin with a distance of 33.67m; Victor Salas placed third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:54.61 and the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:23.18; the Monett boys relay team placed third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 46.13 and Jonathan Jayden Apostle placed third in long jump with a distance of 6.41 m and first in the triple jump with a distance of 12.29 m.

Mt. Vernon
From Mt. Vernon High School, Jacob Erpelding placed first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.81 and placed third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 43.74; Lucas Schoen placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.8m and Hunter Dawson placed third in the discus with a distance of 42.39m and placed first in the javelin with a distance of 51.96 m, which is also a school record;

Pierce City
From Pierce City High School, Liliana Lasker placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.03; Emma Hunt placed first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:52.61; Addison Avondet placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.12 and third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 50.15. The Pierce City relay team placed third in the 4x800 relay with a time of 11:44.72; Paige Fenske placed third in long jump with a distance of 4.92 m; first in triple jump with a distance of 10.23 m and first in pole vault with a distance of 2.96 m; Sara Witt placed second in pole vault with a distance of 2.55 m and Giovani Ibarra placed third in javelin with a distance of 44.49 m.
