Mt. Vernon High School softball players sizzle on the field over the summer

Travel team takes first in Summer Sizzler tournaments
Mt. Vernon High School seniors Cheyenne Bieber and Molly Daniels along with sophomore, Jocelyn Liss have been enjoying a busy summer on the softball fields. The trio not only had a successful spring season but quickly transitioned to their travel team YES Elite 18u which is sponsored by the YES (Youth Excited About Sports) organization out of Warrensburg.
The organization specializes in developing players skills and helping players get in front of college coaches and continue their careers at the collegiate level.
The team entered in four tournaments this summer and brought home first place in three of them.
The team  placed first in the KC Metro Summer Sizzler on July 12-14, the Monett Summer Sizzler on July 20, and finished the season with a first place win in the KC Metro Summer Finale on July 26-28.
The girls will return to the field for the Mt. Vernon High School varsity team this spring where they hope to take the team back to the Final 4 and another state title.
