Mt. Vernon High School Speech and Debate competed in the Nixa IE Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12. Thirteen schools participated in total with about 180 students in attendance.
The results are as follows: Varsity Informative Speaking, Emma Tobey, 2nd overall; Varsity Radio Speaking, Sarah Long, 6th overall; Varsity Program Oral Interpretation, Gabriel Converse, 4th overall; Varsity Duo Interpretation, Jaden Wilson and Tyler Moore: 2nd overall; Varsity U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking, Emma Tobey, 5th overall; Novice Radio Speaking, Eevie Jones: 4th overall; Novice Humorous Interpretation, Ayden Alexander, 3rd overall; Novice Duo Interpretation, Ayden Alexander and Andrea Castro, 1st overall.
