Norman Wayne Bruce

Norman Wayne Bruce, 85, of Kimberling City, (formerly of Monett) passed away Nov. 7, 2018, while at his home in Kimberling City. He was born in Shell Knob, May 1, 1933, to the late I.W. and Lena (Edie) Bruce. He was married in 1955, to Georgene Gentry; she survives.
He was a retired farmer, veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Monett. He also loved to square dance with the Aurora Grand Square Club.
Bruce is survived by: his wife; son, Jimmie Duane (Jill) Bruce of Lee’s Summit; daughter, Janet Lynn Nelson of Kimberling City; brothers, Raymond Bruce of Greely, Colo.; Clarence Bruce of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Naomi Ellis and Edith (James) Haye all of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents and sisters, Ruth Andrews Palmer and Ruby Walls.
Visitation will be held Wednesday Nov. 14, 2018, from 12-2 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 14, 2018 at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett. Burial will follow services at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Butterfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
