Orin Edson"Ed" Carl II

Orin Edson"Ed" Carl II, 79, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. Born September 1, 1946 to Orin and Betty Carl, he grew up on the family farm in Mt. Vernon. Ed was a man of strong character, profound faith and dedication to his family. He earned a Master of Music Education, at the University of Missouri, Columbia and honorably served in the U.S. Army  as an SPF4 E-4 in the 399th Army Band. After teaching in  Missouri and Kansas public schools, he built a lifetime career as a Certified Financial Advisor with IDS/Ameriprise Financial Services. 

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Sherylee "Sherry" (Clark) Carl; sons, Jeffrey and Jonathan; and grandson Lucca; sister Sarah (John) Woodard, Monett and Paulette (Mike) Mobley, Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Bruce. Ed was a devoted member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Mayo Hospital, HonorHealth Shea, and the Eckstein Hospice Center. Arrangements by Messinger Funeral Home. The Rite of Committal will take place on July 24, at Paradise Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Scottsdale, Ariz.
