Robert “Bob” Herndon

Robert “Bob” Herndon, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the age of 88, following a short stay at The Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville.
Bob was united in marriage to Sara Carver Herndon for 65 years. Sara preceded him in death. Together, Bob and Sara owned and operated Herndon Orchard for more than 30 years, building a legacy of hard work, dedication, and community connection.
Bob was an active and well-loved member of the Marionville community. He participated in the Cattlemen’s Association, the Marionville Booster Club, where he was honored as Fan of the Year, the Lions Club, and a local golf league. He also enjoyed coaching. Bob remained committed to his community throughout his life after graduat- ing in 1955 and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Bob found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He loved attending their activities, cheering them on, and simply being present in their lives. You would often find him at ball games, bowling, golfing, or playing cards with friends and family alike.
Bob is survived by two daughters, Ann (Larry) Leavitt, and Kay (Sidney) Kerans. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cody (Andrea) Tuhey, Ashley (Austin) Gayer, Callie (Josh) Maher, and Lathan Kerans and his great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kaleb Tuhey, Elizabeth, and Payton Gayer, and Kiyah and Korah Maher. He is further survived by a special friend, Yvonnie Meyer, and a devoted caregiver, Kelly Wells, who also helped care for Sara and was like another daughter to the family.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, which would have marked Bob and Sara’s 70th wedding anniver- sary with a celebration of Bob’s life to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church 117 S. College, Marionville, Missouri. Following the celebration there will be drinks and refresh- ments in the basement of the church. Bob will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community involvement, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations to be made to the Marionville First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 519 Marionville, Missouri 65705. Online condolences may be shared at www. CraftonCantrellFuneralHome.com.
