Rowena Kay Spears

Rowena Kay Spears, 71, of Monett entered into eternal rest on Saturday Aug. 16, 2025 while at her home in Monett. She was born on May 29, 1954 in Ellinwood, Kan.; the daughter of the late Don Hall and Norma (McPherson) Chambers. She was united in marriage on Nov. 11, 1972 in Purdy to Chuck Spears; he survives.
She was retired from Tyson’s in Monett, and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary in Monett.
She is survived by her husband Chuck of the home; one son; Jared Spears of Monett; Honorary daughter; Stephanie (Jimmy) Carey of Monett; one brother; Galen (Vicki) Hall of Aurora; one sister; Regina (John) Streeter of Miller; four grandsons; seven sisters-in-laws; and one brother-in-law.  
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Dawn Spears, on April 17, 2005; one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.
A celebration of life for her is being held on Saturday Sept. 27, from 2-4 p.m. at the Monett VFW Post 4207.
