Strawberry Pretzel Salad

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Strawberry Pretzel Salad by Darlene Marshall

2 cups pretzels, crushed
3 T. sugar
3/4 cup margarine, melted
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
9 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
1/2 cup sugar
Two 3 oz. pkgs. strawberry Jello
2 cups water, boiling
Two 10 oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, thawed

Mix the pretzels, sugar, and margarine. Pour into a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Let cool.

Cream the softened cream cheese. Beat in the sugar and Cool Whip.

Dissolve the Jello in the boiling water. Add the strawberries. Pour on top of the cheese layer.

Chill and cut into squares.
