Vicki Ann Arner

Mrs. Vicki Ann Arner, 54, of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Joplin, surrounded by her loving family.
Vicki was born on June 24, 1965 in Lockwood, Missouri to Charley and Delores (Hastings) Vandergrift. She was a 1983 graduate of Miller High School. After graduation she furthered her education, attending Franklin Technical, obtaining her LPN degree. For more than twenty years she was employed with the Sarcoxie Nursing Center. She had a love for taking care of the residents and loved her job. On August 6, 1994 she was united in marriage to Danny Arner. She was a lifelong area resident, residing in Onward Community, LaRussell and Sarcoxie.  She enjoyed reading, spoiling her grandbabies, and she loved history, especially the civil war. At one time she had read all of the Lawrence County journals. Her favorite authors were Steven King and Danielle Steel. Vicki will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charley Vandergrift; grandparents, Claude and Ruby Vandergrift, Howard and Alice Hastings; father and mother-in-law, Keith and Wilma Arner; grandmother in-law, Velma Hirshey; uncles, William Hastings and Gary Hastings.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Danny Arner; two daughters, Rachel Blankenship (Chris) of Carthage and Becky Hogan of Sarcoxie; her mother, Delores Vandergrift of Alba; three grandchildren, Kailey Riley, Cody Riley and Lucas Hogan; siblings, Andy Vandergrift (Becky) of Alba, Mary Beauchamp (Mike) of Alba, Susan Thorn (Morgan) of LaRussell and Missy Pietz (Ryan) of Webb City; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services were held Friday, October 4, 2019 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, with Pastor James Yost officiating. Visitation was held October 3, 2019 at the funeral home.
