Juanita Laverne (McSpadden) Steinbaugh

Juanita Laverne (McSpadden) Steinbaugh, 92, passed away on Aug. 12, 2026.
In 1933 Howard and Leola McSpadden welcomed their daughter Juanita into this world in Republic. She and her brothers Jerry of Dallas, Texas and Rex of Arnold, grew up during the depression and the start of WWII.
After graduating from high school from Lockwood, where the family then lived on a farm, she moved to Springfield, attending Draughon's Business College. During this period, she met Arthur (Art) George Steinbaugh Jr. Whom she wed on Aug. 29th, 1953. The following year their daughter Jeanette Marie was born followed by the arrival of Terry Wayne in 1957. She and Art eventually moved to Billings, where they started the first blueberry farm in the area.
She was employed with Kraft foods for 34 years and retired from there in 1989. They spent many years in ministry to prisoners at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield. They were also very active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society though St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Billings.
Art Passed away on Aug. 1, 2019. For the last two years Juanita resided Ravenwood Assisted Living in Springfield.
She is survived by daughter Jeanette and son-in-law David; four grandchildren; a great grandson; brothers Jerry and rex, sister-in-law Sharon McSpadden, sister-in-law Susanna (Steinbaugh) Pinkley.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to one of the following organizations, which were meaningful to the family. NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), American Cancer Society, Ozarks Public Television, Messiah Lutheran Church of Springfield.
