Miller baseball coach Snider earns career win No. 300
The 2022-23 athletic calendar has concluded. Miller’s season came to a close several weeks ago after an 8-3 loss to Marion C. Early, but not before first year coach Justin Snider added another milestone to his already impressive resume that includes being a member of the 2003 Hillcrest Hornets team that was inducted into the Missouri Hall of Fame in 2014.
Miller defeated College Heights in the district quarterfinal round 8-4 to secure Snider’s 300th career victory, in a time that has spanned 14 seasons at three different schools starting at fellow SWC member Marionville in 2006.
Following one season as the skipper for the Comets, Snider took the assistant job at Strafford where he contributed in helping the Indians to a 19-3, third place finish in 2009. Snider took his next jump in 2011 to Clever, where he led the Bluejays to a third place finish in 2012 and played in seven district title games. He also made a name for himself sending 26 Bluejays to play at the next level, and helped 41 during travel ball find a home after high school, including sending three to the MLB draft. He remained in Clever until 2022, before taking the athletic director/assistant principal job at Miller beginning this past school year.
“Seventeen years ago, I never thought I could get to 300 wins, but to do it in just 14 years as a head coach is unbelievable. I am just so fortunate to have had great kids that worked hard," Snider said. "That doesn’t happen if I am not in places where the kids don’t work hard and aren’t talented. I have been very blessed and fortunate to be at places where this is the case. I was just happy my entire family could be there to see it as well.”
