Alveta Gaye Spencer

Alveta Gaye Spencer, 78, of Rogersville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. She was born Feb. 22, 1943, in Aurora, the daughter of the late Glennis Waymond and Wilma Lomoine (Jones) Lasiter.
Spencer was a 1960 graduate of East Moline High School in East Moline. Ill. She was the owner/operator of the Veta Gaye Beauty Shop and was a real estate agent. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
On July 15, 1962, she married Marshall Ray Spencer in East Moline, Ill.
Spencer is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marshall; one daughter, Dayna Spencer of Rogersville; two sons, William Spencer(Teri), of Fordland, and Lyndle Spencer of Rogersville; one sister, Sue Hembest (Don), of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial followed at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
