Anna Lee Young

Anna Lee Young, 97, of Grand Island, Neb., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Duane Fuller officiating.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on the same day. The family received friends and acquaintances at that time. Apfel Funeral Home of Grand Island, Neb. is assisting the family.
Interment was at the Grand Island Cemetery.
Young was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, to Oscar and Mary (Rowe) Ford. She grew up in Mt. Vernon and received her education at Mt. Vernon schools.
She was united in marriage to Eddie Young on Aug. 14, 1943, in Neosho, after which the couple lived in Mt. Vernon until 1946 when they moved to Grand Island, Neb. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother to two daughters.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a leader in the woman’s organization, as well as a teacher.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Haycock of Nampa, Idaho, and Beverly Young of Dannebrog; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Ford of Grand Island, Neb. and Willard Ford of Tennessee; and one sister, Judy Reynolds of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Eddie Young; her parents and seven siblings.
