Apple Butter Makin’ Days almost here

The 53rd annual Apple Butter Makin’ Days festival is a mere two days away. With more than 500 vendor booths and a full slate of entertainment, this year’s installment is sure to be a corker. Although Friday’s weather is forecast to be on the cool side, Saturday and Sunday look to be ideal for the monster fall affair.
Among new items this year will be the White Tiger Discovery Area, featuring real white tigers. If you’re impressed with the white squirrels of Marionville, these cats will blow your socks off.
Friday will open with a long list of kid and adult contests, including a terrapin race, bubble gum blowing contest, husband calling contest, and more. The afternoon will be highlighted by several live performances on the ABMD stage.
Saturday will begin with the huge Apple Butter Makin’ Days parade which ends at the square on Hickory Street. Also offered on Saturday is the annual car show, weenie dog races, and more live music.
Sunday, likely the best weather day this year, will offer services from local churches, as well as, more live music from the stage.
