Barbara Faye (Raley) Poage

Barbara Faye (Raley) Poage, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 after a seven year battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 2, 1938 to Victor and Zola Raley in Harrison, Ark.
She was a 1956 graduate of Pierce City High School where she was the FFA Queen her junior year. She married Ron Poage on Nov. 23, 1957, this November would have been their 65 wedding anniversary. They had one daughter, Rhonda, born in 1958, who gave them two wonderful grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles Raley and Keith Raley; her sister, Shirley and Harold Wemmer; and sisters-in-law, Maria Raley and Shirley Poage.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Poage; her daughter, Rhonda Chapman (John); four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sister, Effie Colins of Aurora; brothers, Kenny Raley (Deanna) of Wentworth and Raymond Raley of Marysville, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Raley of Monett and Betty Raley of Aurora; brothers-in-law, Tom Poage (Jackie) of Springdale, Ark. and Carroll Poage of Pierce City; sisters-in-law, Nelda Henson of Wichita, Carolyn Davis (Pat) of Strafford, Ruth Poage of Georgia and Gloria Hagebusch (Les) of Wentworth; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Funeral service was at Pierce City First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 with Rev. J.D. Edie and Rev. Brad Bennett officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pierce City.
Memorials may be made to Grand Oak Baptist Mission Center in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
