Beatrice "Betty" Emma Rakoski

Beatrice "Betty" Emma Rakoski, age 88, of Pierce City, MO died on Tuesday, June 09, 2020 at Lacoba Homes Inc. in Monett, MO. Mrs. Rakoski was born in Pierce City,
MO on Sunday, May 08, 1932. She was the daughter of August and Clara (Kuntz Saenger. Mrs. Rakoski graduated from Pierce City High School in 1950. She married Edward Rakoski on Saturday, November 28, 1953 at St. Mary's Church in Pierce City, MO. Mrs. Rakoski loved to cook and bake and was often trying new recipes. She sewed many of her children's clothes, even without a pattern. The girls had some of the best-dressed Barbie dolls in Pierce City because she made the clothes for them as well. She was an avid reader. Mrs. Rakoski was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and loved for friends to come over to visit.
 
Surviving are the following: three sons, Mike Rakoski of Pierce City, MO, James "Mark" Rakoski of Pierce City, MO, and Don Rakoski of Missouri City, TX; four daughters, Mary Ackley of Aurora, MO, Deb Erwin of Verona, MO, Diana Holman of Cassville, MO, and Cheryl Weldy of Aurora, MO; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She also will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Clara Saenger; her husband, Edward; one brother, Richard; and five sisters, Dorothy Saenger, Margaret Ceselski, Elizabeth Mann, RoseMarie Gasser, and Louise Saenger.
 
Friends may visit Lakin Funeral Home any time after noon on Thursday, June 11, 2020. The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Rosary services will follow at 7:00 PM
 
Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Friday, June 12, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM with Father Rahab Isidor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City, MO.
 
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School or the Pierce City School's Backpack Program in care of the funeral home (They may be mailed to 501 N. Elm Street Pierce City, MO 65723). Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO
