Brent Stearns

Brent Stearns, 70, of Carthage passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Stearns was born on Dec. 20, 1950 in Mt. Vernon to Dan and Lucille (Duke) Stearns. Stearns attended Mt. Vernon High School. He graduated with the class of 1969 from Mt. Vernon. He served in the United States Army following graduation. He served his country proudly as a combat soldier in the Vietnam war. He was a former forklift operator for Schreibers in Carthage before his retirement.
Stearns is survived by his wife Janet (Wilson) of Carthage, a daughter Mistie Brashear, Koshkonong, A sister Lana Kern(Herschel) of Carthage, a brother Mike Stearns (Diane) of Brandon, Miss. and a sister Jan Parks of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by a grand daughter and three great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Stearns was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Lucille Stearns, and a brother,Linden Stearns.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-5 p.m. Sunday Jan. 16, 2022 at the Church of the Nazaren in Carthage.
