Burl Darrell Baum

Burl Darrell Baum, 69, of Aurora passed away June 8, 2021, near his home in a tractor accident.
Baum was born to Roland and Emma Berry Baum on Jan. 11, 1952, in McDowell. Baum was an Eagle Scout and joined the Air Force after high school. When he returned he built custom homes and later specialized in custom cabinets.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne; sons, Travis Baum (Kathy) of Fremont, N.H. and Matt Richardson of Springfield; daughter, Tara Richardson of Columbia; brothers, Al Baum of Roanoke, Va., Fred Baum of Aurora and Rex Baum of Diamond; sisters, Maxine Wolfe (Bill) of Springfield, Mary Ann Thomas of Mt. Vernon, Judy Mooneyham (Darrell) of Aurora and Donna Freiburger (Paul) of Aurora and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held June 11, 2021 in the Aurora United Methodist Church under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Maple Park Cemetery with full Military Honors.
Visitation was held Friday until service time in the church.
Memorials may be made to the local VFW in care of the funeral home.
