Carol Francis Gardner

Carol Francis Gardner, 69, of Aurora passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at her daughter’s home, in Aurora. She was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Porter Bynum and Rose Marie (Hartmann) Click. Gardner was a 1969 graduate of Beeville High School in Beeville, Texas and attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was the manager of Pin Oak Apartments in Aurora, a member of the Aurora Bible Church, the Historian and member of the Aurora Hospital Auxiliary, a member of a local pinochle club.
Gardner is survived by two daughters, Donna Cowperthwait  (Robert), of Aurora and Charlie Comstock (Travis), of Springfield; one son, Don Hopper Jr. (Stacey), of Springfield; five grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Hartmann of Onalaska, Texas, Allen Hartmann (Sue), of Richmond, Texas, Porter Click of Georgetown, Texas and Lanny Click of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Gardner was preceded in death by her parents, Porter Click and Rose and Alvin Hemby; one brother, John Click and one sister Ann Click. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at the Aurora Bible Church with a Mexican food themed potluck dinner to follow at 4 p.m. and all are invited. Services are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora. Online condolences may be shared at this website.
