Catherine Geneva Beck

Catherine Geneva Beck, 93, of Mt. Vernon, passed away  Feb. 26, 2022, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. She was born July 13, 1928, in Aurora, the daughter of Ueal and Lorene (Brashers) Leath.
Beck was a 1947 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. She retired from the Mt. Vernon Rehabilitation Center where she worked in the dietary department. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church.
On July 12, 1947, she married George Thomas Beck, in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2019.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Shuckahosee (Gary), of Aurora; granddaughter, Johnna Roark (David), of Springfield; four great-grandsons; six great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert Leath (Barbara), of Kimberly City and Roger Leath of Branson; brother-in-law, Floyd Beck (Donna), of Nixa and several nieces and nephews.
Beck was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents, Ueal and Lorene; infant, Baby Beck; one brother, Harold Leath and three sisters, Nova Brown, Wilda Wilson and Norma Lee Blevins.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Ruckman Cemetery, east of Mt. Vernon.
