Christopher Steven “Chris” Barto

Christopher Steven “Chris” Barto, 76, of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, May 5, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. 

He was born Jan. 21, 1950 in Wood, Pa. the son of Roy W. and Emma Mary (Shultz) Barto. On Aug. 3, 2009 he was united in marriage to Kristine Krentz in State College, Pa, who survives. Also surviving is one brother, Richard Barto and his wife Letty of West Grove, Pa., and two sisters, Judy Kutz and her husband Ronald of Carlisle, Pa and Della Robinson of Chesapeake Bay, Va.

Preceding him in death were his parents and 13 siblings. 

After high school, he continued his education at Shippensburg University where he received a bachelor’s degree. During his career he managed a grocery store in Mifflintown, Pa for 14 years, and was a member of United Methodist Church in Shell Knob. 

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
